Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Communications Manager, the Office Support Assistant within the
Vice Chancellor for Student Success suite provides professional support to the Vice Chancellor and Assistant Vice Chancellors, as well as a
broad variety of administrative duties for the office. In performing duties, the Office Support Assistant will work independently and
collaboratively as appropriate and exercise initiative, judgement, discretion, and confidentiality.



Key
Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Vice Chancellor and Assistant Vice Chancellors via direction from the Executive
    Communications Manager. Effectively manage calendars and agendas. Assist with workday preparation by anticipating information needs such as
    support documents, materials, itineraries, and information
  • Coordinate logistics and provide administrative support for a variety of
    events, projects, committees, and meetings
  • Compose and send correspondence, reply to emails and other inquiries on behalf of the
    office, some of which involve highly confidential and/or sensitive matters, and serve as a resource person to others within the Division of
    Student Success
  • Provide a positive first impression and back-up to the reception desk as needed. With the support of this team,
    manage incoming calls and visitors, supplies, requisitions, and requests for repairs. Coordinate office coverage.
  • Coordinate travel
    and accommodations as needed; prepare travel and expense reports for prompt reimbursements
  • Pay bills, subscriptions, memberships,
    invoices, etc.
  • Maintain website, office telephones, and oversee division email inboxes
  • Special projects/other duties as
    assigned

Minimum Qualifications


High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience from
which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications


  • Excellent written
    and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
    simultaneously while exhibiting attention to detail
  • Experience in managing events, travel arrangements, multiple calendars, and
    preparing meeting agendas is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Calendar) and PeopleSoft
  • Experience completing basic website updates
  • Experience working in higher education is preferred

Anticipated Hiring Range



The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $14.50 to
$18.11 hourly.


Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination
of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
