Research Administrator (Working with Muslim Families to Increase Cancer Screening Uptake)

The University of Bradford is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic administrator for this 3-year part time position. You will work collaboratively as part of a team supporting an innovative community health project that aims to increase the uptake of cancer screening in South Asian Muslim women in Bradford by working with men in their families

Based mainly at the purpose-built Wolfson Centre for Applied Health Research at Bradford Royal Infirmary, the post holder will provide administrative support for this project funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research.  The Wolfson Centre for Applied Health Research is a community of staff with an interest in research from the Universities of Bradford and Leeds and the Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This highly collaborative working environment supports real world, interdisciplinary research projects that improve the health of the local communities.

You will work closely with the Research Fellow employed on the project but also provide administrative support to the research team which includes staff within the University but also external team members including colleagues from the NHS, Bradford Institute for Health research and community organisations. You will also work with the ‘experts by experience’ group.

You will undertake activities including data management and reporting, producing research materials, maintaining the project website, dealing with payments and scheduling and servicing project related meetings and related events.

You will be experienced in managing a project and maintaining project management systems, working with the Microsoft Office Suite and be confident working with numerical data.

We welcome informal enquiries prior to application to Dr Melanie Cooper ([email protected]).

The post is offered on a part time basis 18.13hrs (0.5fte) per week.
