The Division of Public Relations and Marketing Communications (PRMC) at Georgia State University is
seeking to hire a for a creative Social Media Coordinator to help tell the GSU story across platforms, and to create
content that captures the energy of campus life and highlights the university.

WHAT WILL YOU
DO:
This position is responsible for content creation, publishing and monitoring content across the university’s official
social media platforms. This role will showcase Georgia State’s academic excellence, student success, research impact and community
engagement while strengthening the university’s digital presence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
INCLUDE:
- Create, schedule and publish engaging content across multiple platforms.
- Develop fresh, creative campaigns
that highlight student life, university news and GSU’s role in the heart of Atlanta. - Keep a finger on the pulse of trends and
translate them into Panther-approved content. - Attend GSU events for live coverage on social media.
- Work with student
assistants to create authentic, student-focus content. - Write sharp, on-brand copy that informs, inspires and occasionally makes
people laugh. - Collaborate with departments, colleges and student groups to amplify their stories.
- Monitor comments and
messages to keep our digital community engaged, positive and well-informed, and respond to customer service inquiries on social
media. - Track performance metrics and share insights to help guide future content.

Qualifications:
What We’re Looking For:
- A creative
self-starter who thrives on collaboration. - Strong storytelling skills – whether in a 15-second clip, a photo carousel or a witty
tweet. - Video editing and graphic design know-how (Canva is a plus).
- A love of social media trends and an eye for how they
can fit GSU’s brand. - Ability to juggle multiple projects.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
and four years of related experience; or a high school or GED and eight years of related experience; or a combination of education and
experience.
Preferred Requirements:
In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, preference may be
given to those who meet the following: Two years of experience working with social media campaigns or media relations, use of analytics and
related dashboards (Hootsuite preferred), experience using variety of social media platforms and knowledge of higher education and Georgia
State.
